Access to the ScriptGen [SG] site is controlled by a SpiralTest provided License key
The Main Page contains Tests, Objects, and Variables Tabs that allow the tester to select the area of concentration.
Personalization is describe completely in the User Guide. In summary, each SG project can have Thousands of Tests and Objects. The primary GUI display is a Treeview Object displayed inside your browser.
The required transfer bandwidth for thousands of Treeview nodes would:
- Overload your internet connection
- overload the resources of your browser
To manage this very serious problem SG keeps track of the nodes that you have expanded and ONLY delivers the nodes of interest to your current efforts.
The Object Tree contains a node for all the Testable Objects in the Application Under Test [AUT].
The Script Page contains a Treeview representation of all the Steps in a specific Test
The Narrative Tab displays the text associated with each test step.
Each SG Action is configured by SpiralTest with Narrative Text containing embedded "Tokens" that represent the Step Specific Data from the Test Step Action and Action Arguments for the updated Test.
During the SG Automatic Regeneration Process the Narrative XML file for each Test is updated and delivered to the project LAN environment via the SG Webservice
